Improvements in Tuta Mail
In 2025, our Mail apps saw the most feature improvements and releases ever! With improved email organization thanks to labels, resizable columns, improved search, and set primary email address. We also welcomed improved security with key verification, and major improvements in the usability of all the Tuta clients with 10x faster loading speeds thanks to FastSync. Before we end the year, let’s take a look at what else has been introduced!
Auto-save drafts
Thanks to auto-save drafts, you’ll never lose an email again!
Maybe one of our biggest improvements ever – that went largely unnoticed – is auto-save drafts! Our team recently released auto-save drafts to ensure that in the unlikely case one of our apps or your device crashes, you do not need to worry about loosing the email you were in the process of writing.
Drag & drop to nest folders
Organizing folders is now easier as you can also drag & drop folders to created nested folders.
Earlier this year, the team worked on some nice new easy actions in Tuta Mail, like click to undo delete or move, and drag & drop to label. Now it’s also possible to drag & drop parent folders into nested folders. This might seem like a small improvement, but it greatly improves your options when it comes to how you organize and move your folders.
iOS badge counter
If you use the Tuta Mail app on iOS, you can now see how many new emails you have with the badge counter.
This year, we also made some nice improvements for the Tuta Mail app on iOS. Now, you might have noticed that the Tuta app icon also has a badge counter to notify you of how many new emails you have.

Schedule send emails
With Schedule send emails you will have the option to choose when an email is sent.
Soon you’ll be able to schedule send emails - this is a highly requested feature that we’re very excited to release. This means that if you write an email, but would prefer to send it at a specific time or day, this will be possible soon thanks to scheduled send.
For example, if you reply to emails at night after the work day or on a Sunday night but prefer not to send them out of the usual working hours, you will be able to compose your emails and schedule them to be sent at more appropriate sending times - for example, Monday at 9:00 am.
Less spam in your inbox
In the next few weeks, our team will be rolling out the new improved spam filters. This will be an amazing upgrade for your mailbox - especially if you receive a lot of spam that mistakenly gets marked as genuine email. In order to make sure your spam filter is trained correctly, it’s important that you continue to move emails accordingly. So if a genuine email ends up in spam - drag and drop it to your inbox, and vice versa!
Want early access? If you want to try the new spam filter as an early adopter, you can already join our open beta test, by sending us an email with your Tuta account to antispam-beta@tutao.de.
Improvements in Tuta Calendar
In 2024, we released the standalone Tuta Calendar app on iOS, Android, and F-droid. This marked an exciting milestone because it was our second Tuta application to be released. Since the release of the standalone calendar, we’ve worked on improving its view options, event rules and behaviors, and we released highly requested calendar widgets, both for Android and iPhones!
Display multiple days in the widget
The Tuta Calendar widget now supports multi-day view.
Since releasing the calendar widgets, we’ve received a lot of feedback from our users which we’ve used to continue improving it. Now, our team has released multi-day view allowing you to see a neat overview of what is planned in your schedule without needing to open the Calendar application. This is the first release of multi-day view and going forward our team plans to continue improving it - so stay tuned!

Show received event invitation as ghost bubbles
When you receive an invite to an event from another person, but you haven’t accept1ed the invite yet, that event will appear on your calendar but will look fainter and have a dotted outline, so that you can easily distinguish it from other events that you have actually accepted. Once you accept the invite, it will appear as a normal event.
Better view & time navigator
Soon you’ll notice some nice improvements to the calendar which will help you easily distinguish and view the times of your appointments.
Continuous development based on your needs
In our recent user survey, over 80% of users said they are likely or very likely to recommend Tuta to their family, friends, or colleagues.
At Tuta, we value the feedback from our users which is why we take your suggestions and feedback into consideration when planning what to improve and develop next. For example, in last years user survey, we found out that just 3% of users wanted an AI copilot compared to 29% who wanted an encrypted drive solution. So with a lot of planning and development, our team has been building the Tuta Drive, which we are very excited about and expect to release in 2026!
We also recently released the results of the Tuta user survey for 2025, and as we start planning for 2026, rest assured, we know what you - our Tuta community - need!
With that being said, we’d like to thank you for your support and for helping us create another extremely successful year at Tuta this 2025! We can’t wait to see what’s in store for 2026. ❤️
