  • Release Notes: Contact Lists & System Preferences for Dark/Light Theme

    We are excited to let you know that we have released a major update for Tutanota! You can now create contact lists to easily send emails to groups. This neat little feature lets you send an email quickly to a group of people, for instance your family, your circle of friends, or a group of business contacts. What is more: you can even share your encrypted contact list with other Tutanota users so that they can use the same list which makes communicating in a group so much easier!

  • Raising the bar in security with Argon2.

    We are excited to let you know that we have updated the hashing function in Tutanota to Argon2 - the most secure algorithm. This is the first step on our road of becoming a post-quantum secure email provider as this hashing function can generate much larger encryption keys used to secure your Tutanota emails, calendars and contacts.

    On April 3rd a vulnerable version of Tutanota was released. We were notified about the issue three days later by one of our users and fixed it immediately. Now, all affected versions of Tutanota have been disabled and we would like to inform you about the issue for full transparency.
