Email on your terms
For many people, checking their mailbox early in the morning before work or late at night is normal. But the downside to this is that replying to these emails out of working hours, for example, when sitting on the couch at 9 pm, is often seen as unprofessional and a no-go when it comes to email etiquette. Now, with the new schedule-to-send feature in Tuta Mail, you have the flexibility to not just check your mailbox whenever you want to, but also reply and schedule these emails to be sent whenever you want them to be sent.
The introduction of schedule to send in Tuta Mail gives you the flexibility and freedom to email on your terms – when it suits you best.
Scheduling when an email is sent is easy!
- After writing your email click the schedule symbol. This can be found in the mail editor toolbar just below the subject line.
- Set the send date & choose the send time.
- Click Send Later.
And voilà! Your email is now scheduled to send at the specified date and time. By default, Tuta picks 8 am on the next day for the email to be sent, but you can pick a time.
Improvements in Tuta Calendar
Show received event invitation as ghost bubbles
Our calendar team has also been working to improve the calendar view! Now, when you receive an event, but you haven’t accepted or declined the invite, the event will appear on your calendar but it will look fainter and have a dotted outline, so that you can easily distinguish it from other events that you have actually accepted: It will appear as a ghost bubble. Once you accept the invite, it will appear as a normal event.
Next up: undo send & better spam filtering!
Now that you can choose when to send your emails, the next highly requested feature our team is working on is undo send and improved spam filtering.
Let’s be honest, we’ve all clicked send on an email just to realize we forgot to spell-check the email, to add a subject line or forgotten to attach the attachment. It’s in times like these that we wish we could take back the email. Soon, this will be possible in Tuta Mail thanks to undo send, an optional feature that delays the sending of the email by ten seconds. This gives you enough time to undo the sending of an email if you need to.
In addition to this, we will roll out our new and greatly improved spam filters to ensure that spam is caught and that legitimate emails remain in your inbox. So if you’ve ever had an important message wrongly flagged as spam, this update is for you.
To ensure the new filters are accurate, your input matters. Keep marking emails correctly:
- Found a real email in spam? Move it to your inbox.
- Found spam in your inbox? Mark it as spam.
An exciting year lies ahead!
Schedule send, undo send, and improved spam filters were features and improvements highly requested by the Tuta Community, so we are super excited that soon we will have delivered what the community requested for their end-to-end encrypted mailbox. In addition to this, a lot more has been happening behind the scenes! Improvements to the Tuta Calendar and the highly anticipated Tuta Drive.
We look forward to what 2026 has in store for Tuta! And as always, we guarantee new features, more improvements, and continuous development of all Tuta products. With top security and privacy, always. ❤️🔐
