Tuta keeps getting better!
A lot has been going on behind the scenes at Tuta this year: Our teams have been working hard to improve and develop all aspects of Tuta Mail, Tuta Calendar, and Tuta Drive.
Notably, we have seen great new usability features in Tuta Mail like schedule send and undo send, improved view for your calendar with pending invitations as ghost bubbles. The team also rolled out new and improved spam filters, and just last month, we released the Tuta Drive in closed beta!
And that’s not all: We have more planned for the year ahead. But for now, let’s take a look at what’s new!
Easily reapply inbox rules
Inbox rules are a great feature used by many because they allow you to create rules for incoming emails. Don’t want emails from your insurance provider or bank to send to your inbox? Just create a rule to send these into a specific folder! Inbox rules allow you to choose how Tuta Mail deals with your incoming emails - and now we’ve implemented a neat new feature: a button to reapply inbox rules.
Inbox rules keep getting better! Now you can quickly reapply rules by clicking this button.
When is it useful to reapply rules?
-
If you edit one of your existing inbox rules, you can click this button to retroactively apply the rule again.
-
If you import a batch of emails and create a rule you would like to apply to the newly imported mails, you can click this button to apply the rule.
To reapply inbox rules, go to: Settings > Email > Inbox rules > Reapply inbox rules.
Next up: This is not the only improvement planned for email rules. Our team will also focus on improving the inbox rules. This means you’ll be able to create inbox rules to assign labels and rules to mark emails as read.
Tuta keeps getting faster
Did you notice that Tuta now syncs much faster than before?
Faster sync
No one likes it when things load slowly, and while Tuta didn’t necessarily sync slowly, it still was not as fast as our team wanted it to be so we made some improvements and now the Tuta clients are syncing much faster. Sync time improvements will especially be noticeable for Tuta users who use our tools from abroad (outside of Germany).
Faster search results
Creating fast, and efficient email search on encrypted data is quite a challenge, but this doesn’t stop us! Now, you’ll be glad to know that getting search results is faster and better when searching for past emails.
Searching your encrypted mailbox is now more convenient thanks to faster search results.
Coming Soon: Our team will work on entire mailbox search by default. For now when you search in Tuta you have to manually change the search time range, but once we’ve enabled search for the entire mailbox, this will no longer be necessary.
Tuta Drive development continues!
Last month, we released the Tuta Drive in closed beta and invited some Tuta users to test and provide feedback on the drive. We must give a big thank you to all our testers: we appreciate the positive and constructive feedback you’ve provided. Since then our team has been improving and developing the drive to get it ready for open beta.
At first, Tuta’s cloud storage was only available in our web client, but now its been implemented into Tuta’s desktop clients, including on Linux! And next on the agenda is developing the Tuta Drive app for Android, and then for iOS. Then, in the upcoming months, Tuta Drive will be released in open beta, and more people will be able to use it, so keep an eye out for this.
Stay tuned
We look forward to continuing to develop and improve all of Tuta’s products, and we hope you are enjoying these new features and upgrades too. If you’d like to stay in the loop with Tuta’s development, engage with us, or give us feedback, and give us a follow here:
