Tutanota is the secure email service that comes with automatic end-to-end encryption. When we started building Tutanota,
we always believed that sending an end-to-end encrypted email needs to be as easy as sending a normal email. The numbers
prove us right: 58% of all emails sent from Tutanota are end-to-end encrypted.

easily we can automate the processing of crypto payments. Then we will add an option to also pay for Tutanota with cryptocurrencies.
We are excited to let you know that the Tutanota Android app is now ready to join the beta of our new mail client!
Our new mail client client already comes with a lot of improvements: 2FA support, auto-sync as well as significantly better speed and design.
Right now we are adding all these improvements to the Tutanota Android app. Originally, we've planned
to release the new app once it supports all new features. However, we ourselves prefer using the beta app so much compared
to the old version that we did not want to make you wait one day longer.
Please welcome with us our new team member: Ivan. Ivan has used Tutanota for more than a year already when he received one of
our mails that inform all our users about important updates to Tutanota. In this mail, we also asked for passionate privacy
advocates to join our development team. Without thinking twice, Ivan applied. Now he is already working on
building the new Android app. And with his passion and development skills combined, it won't take long until the new app
is going to be released!
Everybody has the right to whisper. We want that everybody has the right to whisper online as well. That's why your
encrypted Tutanota mailbox can also be accessed via the Tor browser - without the need for personally identifiable information
such as a phone number.
The EU is currently working on updating the legal framework that governs the privacy of electronic communications with
the aim of reinforcing trust and security in the Digital Single Market. The European Parliament, in its report adopted
in October last year, included much-needed provisions supporting the use of end-to-end encryption and a clear stance
against backdoors. Meanwhile, Member States in the Council have not managed to find a compromise so far.
The European GDPR requires companies to secure emails containing sensitive data of EU citizens. Tutanota
is a secure email service with built-in encryption. Whenever necessary, you can easily send
end-to-end encrypted emails to any email address so that your business can achieve GDPR compliance for all emails.
EFAIL describes potential attack vectors on PGP and S/MIME encrypted emails exploitable in several mail clients.
While some argue that the publication of EFAIL and the recommendation by EFF to disable PGP for now are an exaggeration,
raising this issue in such a dramatic way will
actually help to improve PGP and S/MIME security in the long-run. Some of the attack vectors have been known for
decades, yet, several mail clients are not patched to date. Because of the 'hype' created by the authors of EFAIL and by the EFF,
this will finally change.
We are happy to announce that we have updated our new beta client. You are now able to upgrade to all our paid plans with
the new mail client. We have also much improved the upgrading process to make it faster and easier and to accept
PayPal payments with security codes.
