Shared mailboxes are available in all Tuta Mail plans for business and offer an easy way for multiple email users to answer emails from within one shared mailbox.

How shared mailboxes work in Tuta

When you create a Tuta Business plan, the admin of your organization has access to Admin Settings.

Under Admin Settings, the admin can create users (for each employee). Each user gets their own Tuta mailbox, and can be given access to different shared mailboxes. The email admin of an organization can also control the Global settings, Whitelabel, Subscriptions, and Payments.

Once you have created a Tuta business account and added your custom domain, you can begin with adding users.

Before creating shared mailboxes, you will need to add users who each get their own mailbox to your business plan.

  1. Go to SettingsUser Management
  2. Click on the ‘+’ to add a new user
  3. Enter the user’s name, their email address, and select the domain
  4. Create a password (which your employee can change) and click Ok
  5. Review the booking summary and click Buy

Once you have added a user, you will see the newly created user account under User management in Admin settings. When you click on the user you can see their account details and give them access to different shared mailboxes.

Once you’ve added your users, you can create different mailboxes which can be shared between users.

  1. Go to SettingsShared Mailboxes
  2. Click on the ‘+’ to add a new mailbox
  3. Enter the name of the shared mailbox, an email address, and select the domain
  4. Click Ok
  5. Review the booking summary and click Buy

Once you have created a sharable mailbox, you will see it under Shared mailboxes in Admin Settings. When you click on the shared mailbox you can manage its set up, for example grant access to users and create alias email addresses.

  2. Under Group members click on the ‘+’
  3. Select the user you want to give access to the mailbox
