Tuta One-Click Migration in closed beta

Last year, we released email import in Tuta Mail, this was a big step in making it easier for businesses and individuals to switch to Tuta Mail from other email providers. While the current import feature allows you to manually import emails from files into your encrypted mailbox it’s still not the easiest and most efficient way to migrate old mailboxes into Tuta - especially for businesses with many employees and thousands of emails.

Since then, we have worked on making migrating to Tuta Mail easier, and now we are excited to announce that One-Click Migration is in closed beta.

What is One-click Migration?

Tuta’s new migration feature allows you to automatically migrate and sync any old external mailboxes (with IMAP) into Tuta Mail. This means that if you or your business would like to switch to Tuta Mail, and bring all existing emails and folders with, it will soon be an automated and hassle-free process.

One-click Migration will allow you to easily link your old mailbox, for example Gmail, with Tuta Mail and then automatically migrate all of your emails into your encrypted mailbox. Unlike the current state of email import in Tuta, One-Click Migration is a game-changer because it imports your old mailbox and maintains the emails folder structure. Or, if you don’t want to migrate all emails according to their file structure, you also have the option to simply import your external mailbox into a different folder, for example “Archived”.

One-click Migration will also sync one way from the external mailbox into Tuta Mail. This means that if you receive an email in Gmail it will sync into your Tuta Mailbox. The idea behind this is that it allows you to keep the migration running until you’re ready to close the old mailbox account.

With this new feature, all your data is encrypted on your device before reaching your mailbox, this ensures we cannot access it. For now, Tuta One-Click Migration is in closed beta as selected businesses and Tuta users test it. Once this phase is completed, we will roll out this new feature to all existing paid and business Tuta plans, so stay tuned!

The Tuta Drive is now available as standalone apps for Android and iOS.

At first, Tuta’s cloud storage was only available in our web client, then it was implemented into Tuta’s desktop clients, including on Linux and now we’re excited to announce that we have developed the Tuta Drive mobile apps for Android and iOS. We also want to give a warm thank you to everyone who has helped to test it and provided feedback on the drive - we appreciate your input.
