Fourteen Eyes Countries: How does this affect your privacy and security?
In the interconnected cyber world there are a growing number of platforms providing secure encrypted email, VPN, cloud storage, and other services. Most apps track you - not just when you use the app, but oftentimes also silently in the background. Whether you are using games, weather, fitness or social apps, it's likely that these apps send data to data brokers, or even to Google, Facebook and other tech giants. In the United Kingdom, ThreeUK internet users are unable to access Tutanota mailboxes on mobile connections since the beginning of November. Even though we reached out to ThreeUK over one month ago, the issue is still not fixed. A possible reason could be a wrongly applied adult filter. Regardless of what is causing the issue, this shows why net neutrality is so important for internet users and online services alike.

Google introduces client-side encryption for Gmail - but not for you.
Gmail once promised that it will become end-to-end encrypted by default. Now Google has announced that it is following through on its promise - but only for Workspace key accounts. For private Gmail users end-to-end encryption is still out of reach. Will this new effort for true security be available to all users in the future, or just to a 'chosen few'?

We are kicking off the development of email import!
We are excited to let you know that we are working on an import feature for Tutanota. As an end-to-end encrypted email service, we do not want to import your emails directly to our servers. When importing any of your data to Tutanota, we always make sure that our server can never read any of it. This zero-knowledge approach is a challenge, particularly for emails, but we already have an idea how to tackle it!
