Australian Whistleblowers on Trial: Stop the War on Whistleblowers!
In Australia - like we've seen multiple times in the USA - there are two very brave whistleblowers, Richard Boyle and David McBride, going to be on trial later this year. Their fault: calling out wrongdoings of the government. Similar to famous whistleblowers like Edward Snowden and Julian Assange, they informed the public on abuses of power - crucial for any democracy. While Boyle & McBride are being prosecuted in Australia, the EU pushes for better whistleblower protection. The Australian case shows why this move by the EU is more needed than ever!

Whistleblower Protection Act: Finally European governments realize that whistleblowers need to be protected & are putting this requirement into law!
After the corruption scandals at Wirecard and the scandal of EU MP Kaili being bribed by Qatar, European governments are finally increasing whistleblower protection! In Germany and Austria a new law is about to be passed that will bring incentives and protections to whistleblowers so that violations of the law are noticed earlier and can be stopped: the Hinweisgeberschutzgesetz (Whistleblower Protection). To enable SMEs as well as larger companies to comply with the new law, Tutanota now launches the Whistleblower System Secure Connect.

It's Data Privacy Day. Let's fight surveillance capitalism!
The statement "I have nothing to hide" is very popular. So is reversing it: Give me your email login, your Facebook login, a copy of your WhatsApp chat. Most people will refuse instantly. But why do they still share their data freely with huge corporations like Google and Facebook? On Data privacy Day it is time to quit these tracking machines and fight against surveillance capitalism.
