Time to celebrate: Two years of tuta.com
Two years ago, we launched the Tuta domain. Today we are celebrating the best email, calendar and contacts apps ever!
Choosing Tuta as our main brand name and email domain had many benefits.

But before looking into the future, let’s take a look into the past and see how we managed to get a four-letter .com domain in 2022 - since all nice domains sold out long ago.
Meeting in Brazil
It was a busy day in the summer of 2022 in São Paulo when two young men met at a nice restaurant to talk business: Vitor, working for Tuta in the crypto team, and a Brazilian, who prefers to stay anonymous - which we of course respect one hundred per cent. After having a nice dinner, they agreed on selling the domain, and, thus, the ownership of the tuta.com domain was transferred from Brazil to Germany.
While this was a small step, this change was huge for Tuta, and time has proven that this was the right decision. Shortly after releasing our new domain, also sparked by the trend to buy European alternatives for achieving better digital sovereignty, we at Tuta saw our fastest growth ever.
